Abstract/Summary:
This project is inspired and based upon a daily courtroom's operation. The application records the daily courtroom's operation and trial proceeding, and later backs up onto VHS tapes or digital media storage, for instance, DVDs or CDs, to be archived and stored in the library. The archived recording can be reviewed by the judges, prosecutors, and lawyers or for future references.;In order to provide efficient and easy reviewing of the recorded material, audio and video indexes are built to achieve the goal. Indexing provides easy access to the recorded content and search capability. For example, a prosecutor is reviewing the trial proceeding of the day, he might be interested only in dialogs where the murder weapon were discussed during the trial. The prosecutor can then type in the word "murder" or "weapon" in a search box in the application and then click the search button. With the indexing capability, the application can then perform the search based on the indexes and retrieve the searched word and its associated time stamps. The application can then get to these different positions in the media with the given timestamps. The prosecutor can then move to all these different points in the recorded media where the word murder word was mentioned.
