| Since there is a need to compute students' grades efficiently and accurately, this thesis improves upon a sixteen year old program that is being used by professors. This grade management system contains greater functionality and extends to all classes. Also included is the ability to create custom settings for each class, along with functionality to populate the student database table from a selected file. The design provides for end of semester reporting, such as grades sorted by weighted average or letter grade.; The graphical user interface used for this design is Web-based and uses a Web browser to connect to the database for retrieval and storage of information. MySQL is the database that stores the data, the Apache HTTP server serves the Web pages to the client's Web browser, and PHP is the middleware that interconnects the MySQL database with the Apache server. |
