Abstract/Summary:
Watermarking is a process of hiding copyright information in digital media by making modifications to the available digital data. This digital data can apply to audio signals as in the case of Audio Watermarking and digital images (JPEG) in the case of Image Watermarking. "The basic idea is to embed a message into the data in a robust yet imperceptible way" [3]. This thesis studies digital image watermarking using blue color amplitude modulation. As a necessary background, the basic concepts of watermarking methods are discussed. Programming was done in MATLAB; the program implements embedding and extraction of the watermark. Concepts of cross-correlation were used in detecting the watermark. Robustness of this method was tested to some image degradations.
