Abstract/Summary:
Mobility management in IPv6 networks allows a mobile user to move in the network while maintaining all of its present connections and remaining reachable to the rest of the Internet. Without specific support for mobility in IPv6, packets destined to a mobile node would not be able to reach it while the mobile node is away from its home link.; In this thesis, we propose a new model called Seamless Mobile IPv6 to solve the handover issue. This new model will deal with this problem using Users Mobility Profiles. Seamless Mobile IPv6 is aimed to reduce the handover latency and the signalization load generated during the location update process. Results analysis showed that the use of Seamless Mobile IPv6 helped us obtain a handover with low delay. In addition, the results showed a significant drop of signalization load using Seamless Mobile IPv6. In fact, better results have been obtained using our protocol in all cases.
