Abstract/Summary:
This study examines the relationship of communication apprehension on the frequency, appeal and likelihood to use different communication technologies on their levels of media richness. This study attempts to determine any relationship between communication apprehension and media richness and how it may affect people using different communication technologies. Survey results from 200 students from CA 110 public speaking courses at the University of South Alabama determined a limited relationship between communication apprehension and media richness on the frequency, appeal and likelihood to use different communication technologies. Overall the results suggested that individuals low in communication apprehension preferred to use phone-based technologies to written-based technologies.
