In the current market scenario, an Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider has great responsibility in producing a product with increased value. To maintain a competitive edge in the market by providing quality products and to acquire new business, the advancements in Information Technology have become a necessity. With the aid of an analytical Quality Assurance System (QAS), quality improvement activities are continuously driven.;Through this thesis, a QAS that renders a quality control plan is proposed. The existing data collection system is studied and the necessary setup change that needs to be incorporated is defined. A prioritization technique to harness defects based on its maximum impact on the revenue is presented along with the quality control plan to monitor, prioritize and control these nonconformities. A system, featuring a feedback mechanism to follow up on the root cause and necessary corrective actions is also proposed as a part of this QAS. |
