| This doctoral thesis focuses on the study of Contemporary Art from a pedagogical perspective, analyzing its potential as a teaching resource for the teaching of artistic values through the analysis of the conceptual contents and forms present in the art works.; We have developed an approach for the teaching of artistic values through Contemporary Art in secondary schools and we have generated a tool that helps its inclusion in the syllabus design and teaching activities. The results of the research have given rise to the development of Transversalia.net, a virtual learning environment for the teaching of values through art. This research work is the cross point of three different fields of knowledge on which we have based our work: Contemporary Art, innovative education through the use of the new information and communication technologies, and the most recent research works on development and application of transversal education.; The policies of information dissemination at the Internet have generated a redefinition of the relationships between the observer and the work of art and new models have been developed that reverse the relevance and position of the reception process of the artistic event. The new transmission forms of visual culture involve a new relation of Art with the public and the social reality which can provide valuable benefits in the field of education. Transversalia.net is a tool developed under the parameters of the World Wide Web, offered to the educational environment of secondary school, with the purpose of promoting, through the special features of the new on-line communication processes applied to classroom teaching, a wider and more intense introduction of Contemporary art in the teaching-learning process.; This new proposal presents different objectives: on the one hand, to bridge the gap between Art and Society and promote public interest for contemporary artistic manifestations; and on the other hand, to provide a conceptual platform for the transversal use of Art, as plural expression of concepts and attitudes relative to the individual and the society at all levels. Contemporary Art, in the sense that it is analyzed in this work, becomes the meeting point of different ways of thinking and acting; this has made us consider it a suitable tool for the transmission of values fostering plurality, diversity, freedom, democracy, etc., and those values that offer the individual critical, independent and constructive alternatives of thought, for the collective creation of a better society.; Due to the constructive nature of this research work, we have had to use two types of sources; Recent works on educational innovation and use of the new technologies in the classroom; and works on Contemporary Art and different framing discourses, from social to political, aesthetic, historical, etc.... Its analysis, classification and systematization from a theoretical-practical perspective have resulted in the development of a tool available for experimentation in the classroom. In this doctoral thesis we provide guidelines of how to integrate Transversalia.net in the syllabus design for secondary school and how teachers should act with the redefinition of Art in secondary school syllabus. |
