The purpose of this program was to develop a grant to fund a music therapy program which may improve or minimize difficult behaviors, promote non-verbal communication, and combat isolation for dementia patients. The difficult behaviors include anxiety, combativeness, and agitation. These behaviors affect the individual as well as those who care for them. The Caesars Foundation was chosen as the most appropriate for possible funding. A grant was written to seek funding from the Caesars Foundation to provide an intervention to promote quality of life for these individuals as well as staff at the adult day health care and family who care for them. |
