The main purpose of this project is to add weight to the fact that pediatric Medicaid participants' parents are not given the tools to manage responsible navigation of the healthcare system. Analyzed was existing data on pediatric Medicaid parents' utilization of the emergency medical system. In addition, investigated was the type of informational directives provided for guidance to parents navigating the healthcare system and competently utilizing their healthcare benefits. Information was gathered on what types of information is electronically available to the parents of pediatric Medicaid recipients and to help them competently navigate the healthcare system.;This study's null hypothesis is that there is no knowledge deficit in terms of parents of pediatric Medicaid recipients and their ability to navigate the healthcare system, understand how to access primary and preventative care, and understand appropriate usage of the Emergency Department and of the pre-hospital Emergency Medical System.
