The purpose of this project was to write a grant to secure funding for a mentorship program for African American male youth involved with the Child Welfare System in Los Angeles California. The mentorship program would be offered through the Children's Bureau, which is an agency that has been providing services for children for over 100 years.;A search was conducted to locate an appropriate funder for the program and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation was chosen because of their goal of enriching the lives of male youth of color. The actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not a requirement for the successful completion of the project.
