Abstract/Summary:
Public expectations regarding sustainable forest management has triggered the implementation of new modes to augment environmental protection during forest harvesting and increase the requirement for consultation of stakeholder in forest planning. These new requirements demand conciliation efforts and the creation of tools enabling reports on environmental performance while facilitating decision-making in a multiple use context. Green accountancy can play a role in this regard. The tool developed enabled the integration of impacts related to the use of two forest operations systems (whole-tree and cut-to-length harvesting) simulated in two forest management scenarios (conventional and mosaic). New indicators based on the Forest resource protection and development objectives were developed and monetized in order to be integrated in the model. The comparison was successfully carried out using those indicators.
