Abstract/Summary:
The Aviation Supplier Association Quality System Standard---ASA - 100 provides distributor of aviation parts and materials with the basic framework to assist them in pursuing voluntary accreditation. Since their initial publication in 1994, these standards have earned a well-known status in the aviation industry as the basis for developing quality system standards.; The objective of this project was to document a summary of the important elements needed for establishing quality systems based on the Quality System Standard, ASA - 100. The methodology that was used on this study centered on an examination of the focus and requirements of the FAA and the U.S. Department of Transportation, based on their Advisory Circulars and Best Practices documents. Documents that were developed to provide and promote information related to continuous improvement and good operating practices within the aerospace community.
