Abstract/Summary:
Through a content analysis that utilized research from first person and second person sources, these related papers examine why it is that people with Asperger Syndrome choose to do various activities in art related careers. The findings suggest that when people such as family, educators, and society in general are knowledgeable about Asperger Syndrome and are willing to make an effort to help them overcome the initial setbacks, that this investment can be instrumental in creating more positive outcomes for those who have Asperger Syndrome. Unfortunately, the research demonstrated that people with Asperger Syndrome do not always get the help that they need and thus end up in an even worse situation. Several barriers stand in the way of an Asperger Sufferer obtaining the services that they need. These barriers were discussed and possible alternatives were offered to address these issues.
