Abstract/Summary:
This thesis involves wind energy generation and the mathematics involved. It will utilize national weather data, and the data are analyzed to determine the wind energy generation potential of a region off the Gulf Coast, in particular Port Aransas, Texas. The purpose of this analysis is two-fold. First, we will illustrate the feasibility of this resource in the Gulf of Mexico. Second, we will outline the mathematics involved in wind energy in a clear concise way in hopes of getting others interested in research in this exciting field.
