| This thesis is concerned with the identification of the angular motion errors of the axis of rotary table of a CNC machine tools, in order to be able to know the capability of the articulation and to correct these variations during manufacture.; The measurement used a laser system (ML10---Renishaw with the angular measurement optics), and a rotary indexer (RX10---Renishaw). The method proposed by the laser system manufacturer does not consider two important sources of error. The first one is the angular motion error of the rotary indexer used as reference. The second is the effect of setup geometry errors such the alignments of the rotary indexer and the various laser components.; After having acquired raw data, a filtering of the setup errors is necessary. This is archived through the use of a geometric and kinematic model based on transport matrices. After this filtering the data now contains mainly a combination of the angular motion errors of the machine tools rotary table and of the rotary indexer "RX10". Decoupling of these two error sources is obtained by the method of reversal. This method requires at least one additional setup but reduces the need for a calibrated rotary indexer.
