| This thesis will document the methods by which one may construct a unique implementation of an air-cushion vehicle (henceforth known as a hovercraft). Primarily, this thesis will cover the novel transmission design of this hovercraft, which is a variable drive mechanism instead of a standard transmission. Improvements also include, among other things, the control systems and the process of manufacturing and assembly. This thesis will show that a hovercraft may be built using an entirely different paradigm for both the power transmission and the control systems involved. This thesis will also show that this hovercraft may be operated in a safe manner under any circumstances without any increased risk of catastrophic failure. |
