Abstract/Summary:
Gas condensate reservoirs are materially different from those of the dry gas reservoirs. The composition of the reservoir fluid is still predominately methane, although the relative amounts of the heavier hydrocarbons are considerably increased. Gas condensate reservoir can choke on its most valuable components due to the formation of immobile condensate which ultimately restricts the flow of gas. Hence it is difficult to predict the performance of a gas condensate reservoir.;An attempt has been made to predict the performance of such a reservoir using the Eclipse 300 Compositional Simulator. A step by step approach is used to define the reservoir. A Cartesian grid is defined and the various pertrophysical properties are input. Then the reservoir fluid behavior is input, which is got from the results of experiments generated in the PVTi & SCAL module of the simulator. The wells, production constraints, the date for the reports to be generated are defined & the simulation is run. Well Productivity, Gas condensate ratio, Reserves and Ultimate recovery are predicted by the simulator.
