| Grid information dissemination protocols distribute information about the dynamic state of computational resources throughout the interconnected wide-area grids.; This thesis investigates the coverage footprint of non-uniform dissemination protocols and provides an insight into the relationship between protocol parameters and the corresponding network coverage. We show that the existing protocols are extremely sensitive to certain parameter values and do not provide control over the coverage footprint. The lack of controllability of existing protocols leads to overhead inefficiencies. We address the limitations of existing protocols by synthesizing the useful coverage behaviors of primitive protocols into a more controllable Hybrid protocol. Our Hybrid protocol is coverage controllable in space and time, and can therefore be used effectively for disseminating information at places where it has scheduling value. We consider this work to be a necessary step toward adaptive dissemination protocols that will be able to react to the state of grid resources to change dynamically where the information is disseminated.
