Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study is to trace the history of reform process and examine the changes of Tianjin 909 News Radio Station since early 1990s. It includes the changes on the requirement from the Party's Propaganda department, reforms on management, journalists' notions, program's formats and contents, broadcasting styles. By studying official documents and reviewing changing process of Tianjin 909 News Radio Station, this thesis attempts to provide a systematic case study that reflects how Chinese news radio stations adjust themselves in order to survive in today's market economy. It offers an observation on the special position of news radios in China, and their efforts in attempting to adhere to the Party's ideologies while successfully compete in the market.
