In operation of tightly coupled long buses, performance is governed mainly by capacitive coupling and crosstalk induced delays. Process variations introduce an uncertainty in the absolute delay on the bus. An alternative to the conventional methods of dealing with the crosstalk and improve performance of the bus is proposed. As opposed to the conventional method, crosstalk is used to advantage of the proposed method. The typical behavior of bus lines with crosstalk is used to predict the future data value on the bus early enough, thereby improving the performance.
