Abstract/Summary:
Limited energy is one of the major constraints of wireless sensor networks. Many strategies have been proposed to handle this problem, which further lead to tradeoffs between issues such as network survivability, data accuracy and delay. In Reliable and Energy Efficient Routing using Probabilistic Approach in Wireless Sensor Networks, we address such tradeoff issues with probabilistic data forwarding. The model has its contribution in terms of energy efficiency, data aggregation and optimal routing (using probabilistic approach) where the mechanism comprises of (1) clustering and forwarding probability decision, (2) data aggregation at a node while forwarding, (3) maximum residual energy routing decision toward base station. Our approach is analyzed with simulations using ns2. The results suggest improvement in network survivability due to significant energy conservation both at the cluster header and regular cluster nodes.; This abstract of 133 words is approved as to form and content.
