Abstract/Summary:
The development of simulation models for complex systems can be difficult and time-consuming; therefore, model reuse is of high value to model designers. The availability of context-of-use information and reusable experiments for modelling components is important for promoting their reuse. This work presents an architecture for an internet-based repository of DEVS models and their Experimental Frames. The proposed architecture uses Experimental Frames to capture the context for the models and allow the sharing of experiments. The proposed architecture specifies the details of the required storage entities, including their contents and relationships. It simplifies the tasks of searching and contributing to the repository. It also allows for an 'open source', internet-based repository of DEVS models and experiments to be built. Finally, the architecture is interoperable for different DEVS tools and thus presents a small step towards enabling collaboration between these tools. Based on this architecture, a prototype repository was implemented.
