Saudi English Teachers' Beliefs and Values Towards English Language in Saudi Arabi

Abstract/Summary:
This study utilized a qualitative research methodology to investigate and explore the beliefs and values that Saudi English teachers hold towards the English language teaching and how these beliefs and values could influence their understanding of their students' academic performance. To be more specific, this study shed light on the beliefs and values that three Saudi English teachers maintain towards English language learning and teaching in a Saudi context.;Structured interview data were collected from these three participants. With the help of the collected data, the factors that shaped and constructed the beliefs and values among the three Saudi teachers were explored. The findings of this study illustrated the sort of beliefs and values that those three Saudi teachers hold, the factors that contributed in constructing these beliefs and values, and the relationships between these beliefs and values and those teachers' understanding of their students' academic performance.;The study concludes with recommendations for the Saudi Ministry of Education and with recommendations for future research.
