Modern science fiction contains many references and allusions to the ancient religion of Zoroastrianism. This thesis provides an overview of the history and fundamental principles of the Zoroastrian religion. Several works within the genre are then examined through the lens of the Zoroastrian tradition, followed by a discussion of the cultural and historical significance of the recent increase in interest within the realm of popular culture.
