Abstract/Summary:
Despite more than 10 years of practicing, the implementation process of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is still a risky project, in which a high level of uncertainty remains, in budget and schedule control as well as in the final quality of the solution and its exploitation. Because new complex situations are arising, we have studied and provided solutions to help and guide the people in charge of these projects.; First of all, we led a literature review in order to understand the issues embedded in these systems' implementation. We found, in the study of the Critical Success Factors (CSF), promising knowledge areas to be further explored. So far, if the CSF have been known for a long time, their realisation remains difficult.; In order to translate the CSF demands into concrete actions for the practitioner, a two steps reflection has been used. First, each factor's literature was reviewed to identify the main actions. Then, we adopted a Delphi study to complete and validate the method with 12 ERP implementation managers. Lastly, we proposed a new CSF management method built on our results.; Finally, our research produced a list of important actions, evaluated by and for managers. From this, we selected the most critical tasks for project leaders to undertake. Moreover, we proposed a few tools to help people use these actions more easily and efficiently.
