Abstract/Summary:
Scope and Method of Study: The purpose of this Design Thesis was to record aspects of environmental beauty that are many times disregarded or seldom appreciated by society, and to display images of this beauty through the surface design technique of using digital printing of original photographs on fabric. The digitally printed fabric was used to create a collection of nine garment ensembles and two garment accessories. The key objectives of this project were to explore: 1) personal ideas about beauty, and 2) ways that these perspectives can be shared with others through fabric.;Findings and Conclusions: Nine garment ensembles and two garment accessories were successfully created using digital printing. The photographic images translated into unique and inventive textiles created by the artist. However, many challenges arose with digital technology that had to be worked through for the collection to be a success.
