Abstract/Summary:
One hundred thirty-one preschoolers, grade-schoolers and adults constructed with wooden blocks in a controlled free play situation. The predicted developmental sequence of the three types of symmetry- (bilateral, translational and radial) was observed supporting a hypothesis of symmetry type and age effects based on their varying spatial complexities.
