Measurement Of The Complementarity And Competitiveness Of Agricultural Products Trade Between China And Thailand

Based on the United Nations trade database(uncomtrade)about the export volume of agricultural products,the structure of agricultural products and the export market data of China and Thailand in the past decade of 2008-2018,this paper summarizes the current situation of China and Thailand’s agricultural products trade respectively,and on this data,constructs the market similarity index and product similarity index of China and Thailand The results show that: in the product market,the export markets of China and Thailand are the same,four of the top five countries are the same,which are the United States,Japan,Malaysia and South Korea;in the product structure,the top 15 agricultural products are 10 It is consistent to grow agricultural products.Therefore,this paper holds that there is a strong competitive relationship between China and Thailand in the export of agricultural products.Secondly,by comparing the differences in natural climate,human resources,land resources and geographical location between China and Thailand,it is found that the tropical agricultural products and land resource intensive products exported from Thailand are complementary to the temperate agricultural products and human resource intensive products exported from China.
