With the acceleration of the process of economic globalization, economic and trade exchanges between countries around the world are becoming increasingly frequent.Mega-events have become an important carrier for displaying the image of countries and regions and promoting cooperation and exchanges.Since the rise of large-scale events, economically developed regions of various countries have been racing to host large-scale events, mainly including sports events, local festivals, and large-scale exhibitions. While large-scale events promote urban economic, social, cultural and environmental development, they can also broaden the horizons of residents and help improve the quality of life and consumption of residents. As a result,large-scale events have developed rapidly in China, especially in Beijing,Shanghai, and Guangzhou Economically developed cities. At the same time, the research on the impact of large-scale activities has attracted widespread attention from the academic community, especially research from the perspective of residents' perception has gradually become a hot spot.Residents,as important stakeholders, suffer from the inconvenience of the activities while enjoying benefits.Residents' perceptions of positive and negative impacts will affect their support for activities. At the same time, under the background of the hindered development of economic globalization,It is of great significance to strengthening international economic and trade cooperation that China holds the first International Import Expo(CIIE),which has the large scale and high specifications. Therefore, this study selects the first China International Import Expo as a case. This study adopts a longitudinal analysis method. With the help of semi-structured interviews and questionnaires,Shanghai residents were conducted twice surveys during half a month before the exhibition and four months after the exhibition. With the help of the independent sample T test of SPSS20.0 software, analyze the changes of Shanghai residents' perceptions and attitudes about the impact of the show over time.Under the guidanceof the social exchange theory and the “cognition-affect-intention” relationship theory, the Government Trust and Consideration Future Consequences were introduced into the residents' perception-attitude scale of large-scale activities, and the impact factors, perception factors, quality of life factors, and supportive attitudes were constructed. The factor relationship model, using Amos 24.0 software, with the help of a structural equation model, validates the relationship between government trust, future outcome considerations, perceptions, quality of life, and supportive attitudes. The research results show that:(1)The impacts of the CIIE include three aspects: economic,soc-cultural and environmental impacts. There are six dimensions: positive economic impact perception, negative economic impact perception, positive soc-cultural impact perception, negative soc-cultural impact perception, positive environmental impact and negative environmental impact.(2)Residents' perception of the CIIE shows three main characteristics:(1)Residents' perception of the impact of the CIIE is relatively strong(especially soc-cultural and economic impacts). However, with the exhibition, the perceived intensity of residents has weakened significantly(especially environmental and soc-cultural aspects);(2)Residents' perceptions have changed significantly, manifested as a significant reduction in positive impact perception and a significant increase in negative impact perception, but the positive impact perception is still stronger than the negative impact perception;(3)Residents tend to make positive comments on the exhibition, thus showing a supportive attitude.(3)With the exhibition, residents' perception of quality of life has gradually weakened and tends to be more neutral.(4)Resident perception-attitude model was constructed and this study found that:(1)Government Trust and Consideration Future Consequences are important factors affecting residents' perception and support attitudes.Government Trust has had significant effect on positive perceptions, negative perceptions and support attitudes;(2)Residents' positive perceptions significantly affect quality of life and support attitudes;negative perceptions significantly affect support attitude, but have no significant effect on perception of quality of life;(3)Quality of life has no significant mediating effect between perception and support attitude. In addition, this study discusses the impact and success of the first CIIE,and provides a certain reference for large-scale event organizers and decision-makers to promote the sustainable development of large-scale events.
