The Research On Prospects And Strategies Of Overseas Warehouse Construction For Cross-border E-commerce In China

In recent years,with the rise of cross-border e-commerce business in China,the overseas warehouses have improved the logistics supply chain of cross-border e-commerce and consolidated the competitiveness of cross-border e-commerce as the frontier position of cross-border trade.However,the cross-border e-commerce export of China is facing a development dilemma,as cross-border e-commerce imports continue to rise,while cross-border e-commerce exports continue to decline.Based on the analysis of the current situation of overseas warehouses business in China,this paper finds three main reasons.Firstly,overseas warehouses and bonded warehouses of cross-border e-commerce tend to import foreign goods to serve domestic consumers,while the ability and willingness to export our goods to serve overseas consumers are still not good enough.Secondly,due to the high cost of construction of overseas warehouses and the scarcity of managerial personnel,there may even be the phenomenon of relying on bonded warehouses to sell export products to the mainland.Thirdly,trade protectionism is on the rise globally.In order to promote cross-border e-commerce exports to overcome the development dilemma,Chinese government has gradually tightened the supervision of bonded warehouses,and vigorously supported cross-border e-commerce to build overseas warehouses,therefore,the overseas warehouses of cross-border e-commerce in China have broad prospects in future.In order to further study the development prospects of overseas warehouses of cross-border e-commerce and whether they would play a positive role in promoting Chinese export,this paper introduces the index of cross-border e-commerce overseas warehouse coverage,and makes an empirical analysis of the relationship between the cross-border e-commerce overseas warehouse coverage and total Chinese exports.The empirical results show that there is a significant positive correlation between the coverage of overseas warehouses of cross-border e-commerce and Chinese export trade volume,which proves that overseas warehouses are indeed conducive to Chinese cross-border e-commerce development,further exploring overseas markets and promoting the growth of Chinese export trade volume.In addition,the empirical results provide data support for the positive prospects of overseas warehouses of cross-border e-commerce in China.Subsequently,five strategies are put forward for the future development of overseas warehouses of cross-border e-commerce in China,including encouraging the overseas acquisition,adjusting the structure of government departments and warehousing industry policies,supporting the securitization financing of logistic warehousing assets,and balancing domestic warehousing construction so as to reduce the imbalance between the demand and supply side of domestic economy and participate in the revision of global trade rules.
