The Liberation of trade to facilitate the creation of several free trade areas, thereby meaning that a country can freely export goods from one country to another without multiple trade barriers are protective measures. This research is therefore based on the impact of CEMAC on agricultural exports from Cameroon. In this research topic,we assess the impact of CEMAC on Cameroonian agriculture.CEMAC is a free trade area made up of countries like Gabon,Cameroon, the Central African Republic,Equatorial Guinea,Chad and the Congo. This CEMAC zone whose countries have assets in rich cultivation land and bio diversity but unfortunately the agricultural sector is almost nonexistent except for Cameroon.Cameroon is heavily dependent on agriculture and is considered to be the backbone of the country's economy.Agriculture serves as a subsistence base for more than 70% of the Cameroonian population contributing to around 22.3% of the country's GDP,and it remains one of the main economic activities of the country also being the second product exporter from the country.Cameroon is currently considered to be one of the most prosperous commodity based economies in sub-Saharan Africa. In terms of trade,Cameroon exports agricultural food crops to the CEMAC zone, this is the reason that pushes us to assess the impact of its exports on the Cameroonian agricultural sector. To properly conduct this research,I based myself on a review of the choice of ordinary least squares method(OLS),to make the choice focused on the following variables labor,Gross fixed capital formation with data collected from the World Bank,a dummy variable was used, the data for this variable comes from the Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO)therefore Cameroon's agricultural exports in tonnes between 1986 and 1999,there is also the variable CEMAC which was used, the data coming from the same source(FAO),agricultural exports from Cameroon to its neighbors from 1987 to 2017 for CEMAC,I used that as dependent variable for all exports in value currency from Cameroon from 1986 to 2017.In conclusion,CEMAC has no impact on Cameroonian agriculture, the observation is that the quantities exported are very insufficient to avoid this situation.CEMAC members must put into consideration policies aimed at increasing trade in the area such as the construction of infrastructure to link the region and other policies to encourage young people to partake in the agricultural sector.
