The proposal of the “Belt and Road” initiative in 2013 has accelerated the trade cooperation between China and the countries along the “Belt and Road” and also expanded the scale of China 's direct investment in the countries along the Belt and Road.Foreign direct investment and foreign trade are the main ways for China to participate in the international economy and society,and also an important channel for China to achieve "going out".Studying the relationship between the two will help promote the healthy development of China's investment and trade.The 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe are an important part of the “Belt and Road” initiative.They are also the most economically active areas among the countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative,and have close contacts with China.This paper takes 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe as the research object and analyzes the trade effect of China's direct investment in 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.This article is divided into six chapters: The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly describes the research background,the significance of the topic selection,literature review and research ideas;the second chapter mainly introduces the development of China-Central and Eastern Europe trade;Chapter 3 mainly introduces the characteristics and development trend of China's direct investment in Central and Eastern Europe;Chapter 4 analyzes the relationship between trade and investment from a theoretical perspective;Chapter 5 is an empirical part.This article selects relevant data from China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries from 2008 to 2017 to ensure the feasibility of the model Based on this,we use panel data to explore the trade effects of China's direct investment in 16 Central and Eastern European countries.The innovation of this article is that the author divides 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe into high-income countries and middle-and high-income countries according to the income standards of the World Bank,and then separately returns to explore the differences between the trade effects of direct investment in countries with different income levels;Chapter 7 is for research conclusions and policy recommendations,and puts forward relevant suggestions from micro and macro perspectives to promote the common prosperity of direct investment and trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries in all directions.The research in this paper shows that: 1.China's direct investment in 16 Central and Eastern European countries has significantly promoted China's imports and exports with these countries,and the trade creation effects of high-income countries and middle-and high-income countries are obvious.2.The GDP level,labor force,infrastructure of 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe have a positive correlation with the trade effect of direct investment,while economic distance and exchange rate have a negative correlation with the trade effect of direct investment.
