The Impact Of Manufacturing Agglomeration And Service Agglomeration On The Upgrade Of Industrial Structure

In the new era,with the deepening of the supply-side structural reforms,how to optimize and upgrade the industrial structure and promote economic restructuring has become an urgent problem to be solved.The integration of manufacturing agglomeration,service industry agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading is becoming increasingly close.Studying the role of manufacturing agglomeration and service industry agglomeration in the upgrading of China's industrial structure has important theoretical and practical significance for China's implementation of modernization and the adjustment of urban economic structure.This article first introduces the basic theories of China's industrial agglomeration(manufacturing agglomeration and service agglomeration)and industrial structure optimization.Then,a descriptive analysis is made on the measurement results of industrial agglomeration(manufacturing agglomeration and service industry agglomeration)and industrial structure optimization and upgrading(rationalization and advancedization).Next,an empirical analysis is performed using the relevant panel data from 2008 to 2017 for 30 provinces(cities,districts),manufacturing agglomeration,and service agglomeration in China to perform a regression analysis on the upgrading of the industrial structure,and the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure(rationalization and advanced)The explanatory variables include manufacturing agglomeration and service agglomeration as the core explanatory variables.A series of control indicators such as economic development level,government behavior,urbanization level,degree of openness to the outside world,and foreign direct investment were used to conduct empirical research as comprehensively as possible.Then,based on the introduction of technological innovation and social needs as mediating variables,the role of industrial agglomeration in optimizing the industrial structure is analyzed.The following main conclusions were reached:(1)The impact of manufacturing agglomeration on the rationalization of regional industrial structure is "U",and the agglomeration of service industries is mainly promoted by the agglomeration of productive service industries and the agglomeration of public service industries.The adjustment of industrial structure has been rationalized;the gathering of manufacturing industries has restrained the regional industrial structure from being rationalized;the agglomeration of service industries has promoted the advancement of industrial structure mainly through the agglomeration of productive service industries and the agglomeration of consumer service industries.(2)Technological innovation plays an intermediary role in the process of agglomeration of manufacturing industry affecting the rationalization of industrial structure,and it is part of the intermediary effect;technological innovation does play an intermediary role in the process of agglomeration of public service industries affecting the rationalization of industrial structure,and it also Part of the intermediary effect;technological innovation has not played an intermediary role in the process of manufacturing agglomeration and the service industry affecting the advancement of the industrial structure.(3)Social demand does play an intermediary role in the process of manufacturing agglomeration affecting the rationalization of the industrial structure,and it is part of the mediating effect;social demand does agglomerate in the service industry,including the expansion of the subdivision of the service industry to affect the rationalization of the industrial structure It plays a mediating role in the process,and it is a complete mediating effect.Social demand is agglomerated in the service industry,and the agglomeration of the subdivided service industry plays a mediating role in the process of affecting the advanced structure of the industry.It is part of the mediating effect.The main innovations of this paper are as follows: First,established an analysis framework for industrial agglomeration(including manufacturing agglomeration and service agglomeration)to optimize and upgrade the industrial structure(rationalization and advanced).Second,the Thail index is adopted.To measure the rationalization of industrial structure,not only can take into account the industrial structure and employment structure,but also reflect the differences between industries,so as to make a more accurate judgment of the rationalization of industrial structure;third,this paper will carry out panel regression,and with technological innovation and As a mediator variable,social demand explores the mechanism of industrial agglomeration(manufacturing agglomeration and service agglomeration)on the upgrading of industrial structure.
