Based on the unique research situation of the intergenerational team,by using the definition of thematic knowledge and non-thematic knowledge proposed by German Philosopher Habermas, this study explores the interaction between thematic knowledge and non-thematic knowledge in the process of innovation, and figures out the function of non-thematic knowledge in this process, and establishes a collaborative innovation model. In this study,a case study method is used to explore the innovation model of the scenario-process-results framework in an intergenerational team, based on the three knowledge innovation cases of a certain research team. This study found that the scenarios of the intergenerational team consisted of intergenerational synergy, first generation traits and compound training. All of them contributed to the transfer and acquisition of thematic knowledge and non-thematic knowledge.More importantly, both thematic knowledge and non-thematic knowledge are indispensable in the process of knowledge innovation. The thematic knowledge comes from the scientific world,is the final product of knowledge innovation, and can play a role of logic structure in the process of innovation. The non-thematic knowledge mainly comes from the life world, and plays a role of communication, guidance and inspiration in the process of innovation.
