Family business is the most important organizational form of Chinese enterprises and it is an important part of the national economy.The management of family business has always been a hot topic in academic research,which focuses on relationship governance,intergenerational inheritance and paternalistic leadership.Careful analysis reveals that these problems are ultimately family problems.In order to solve the problems in the management practice of Chinese family business,it is far from enough to study within the scope of modern family business.Family is the most basic organizational form of Chinese society,and it occupies an important position in Chinese society.Chinese traditional culture advocates "cultivate one's morality,promote one's family,govern the country,and make the world flat".Thus,it can be seen that running the family is the extension of cultivating one's morality,the connotation of running the country,and plays the role of connecting the preceding and the following.For thousands of years,China has rich management practice experience in family management,and has formed a family-centered management thought,which has been passed down from generation to generation and still has fresh vitality.Along with the development of society,the family as the most basic social organization still exists,the family by the collision of western culture in today's society has is incomparable with the ancient family,but its management thought is consistent,therefore this article selects family management thoughts in ancient China as the research object.This research try to discover the content composition and characteristics of family management thoughts in ancient China,excavate its modern value management,and then lay a foundation for building Chinese local management theory.The ancient Chinese family management practice is very rich in content,and a large number of ancient books have been kept,but most of them are mainly from the perspective of history and sociology,the study of family management thoughts from the perspective of management has not been seen,so the research in this paper has certain exploration significance.This paper uses the research method of grounded theory by ancient books and literature related to ancient family management,after open coding,axial coding,selective coding and repeated comparison,finally got the content of the family management thoughts in ancient China,and on the basis of summing up the characteristics of family management thoughts in ancient China.The research shows that the ancient Chinese family management thought is an organic whole composed of the ancient family management elements,management objectives and management methods.The method of family management in ancient China can be divided according to the object.The daily management of clan property is mainly carried out through institutional norms.When it comes to the distribution of clan property,although there are institutional provisions,it still cannot get rid of the restrictions of etiquette in the actual distribution process.The management of family cultural consciousness is mainly realized by constructing cultural identity and cultivating overall consciousness.The goal of family management,regardless of the dynasty,is sustainable development,which can be said to be the overall goal of ancient families.The overall goal can be divided into three sub-goals: harmony,inheritance and development.The typical characteristics of family management thought in ancient China are the personnel management,the goal-oriented property management and the cultural management that attaches great importance to ethics.Finally,this paper obtains its enlightenment to the management of modern family business from the research.This requires the enterprise to build a benign corporate culture,and timely understand the values of the employees,and matches the values of the employees with the corporate culture,so as to form the employees' recognition of the organization,and then more willing to create value for the enterprise.Secondly,the family business should carry forward the people-oriented management concept,so that the common development of employees and enterprises.Third,the family business should improve the system design to eliminate the disadvantages of "relationship".This paper is divided into five parts: the first chapter describes the research background,the significance of the topic,the research ideas,methods and innovations.The second chapter is literature review.Third chapter using the STRAUSS grounded theory method by extracting the original content from different Chinese ancient family management books,such as "The Home Ceremony"," The Classic of Filial Piety","YanShi Family Precepts" and so on.To make up for the lack of data,the research also collected the literature of family management research.Through Open coding,spindle coding,selective coding and theoretical saturation test,the research finally concluded the ancient Chinese management thoughts of family composition and the main content.The fourth chapter first discusses the results of the third chapter rooted theory,then further summarizes and extracts the characteristics of the ancient Chinese family management thought,and expounds the enlightenment of the ancient Chinese family management thought to the modern enterprise management.The fifth chapter summarizes the whole paper,points out the shortcomings of this research,and prospects the future research.
