Research On The Green Operation And Management Of China Foreign Trade Group Canton Fair

The convention and exhibition industry,as a creative innovation of the modern circulation service industry,has developed rapidly in China in the past 10 years by virtue of its particular "Bonanza effect".It not only grows at an average annual rate of 20%,but also continuously marches towards the realm of internationalization,specialization,scale,and branding.Considering that the future economy will have more room for improvement in terms of energy saving,environmental protection and low carbon,as an emerging industry,the convention and exhibition industry will also focus on low-carbon and environmental protection,more importantly implement a recyclable and sustainable environment-friendly strategy.China Foreign Trade Centre(Group),a business entity affiliated to CFTC,mainly organizes large specialized exhibitions and operates the China Import and Export Fair(hereinafter referred to as the Canton Fair)Complex.It also covers business such as exhibition design & construction,advertising,import and export,business travelling,hotel,restaurant,property etc.through its subsidiary,holding company,or joint-stock company.The Canton Fair co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce,is hosted by China Foreign Trade Group.It is a major platform for global trade in service like merchandise display,business communication,product introduction.Meanwhile,the thesis analyzes that current status by doing researches and theoretical studies.It includes the exhibit selection of exhibitors and buyers,energy-saving renovation of the pavilion,deployment and dismantling of exhibitions,and the formulation and implement of exhibition green development plans.In this condition,we can find out the major problem which restrict the development and existence of green operations including the lack of environmental consciousness,industry standards,overall implement and supervision as well as the development bottlenecks and regulatory blind spots.In order to reduce pollution and protect the environment,this thesis offer some advice about green operations of Canton Fair by analyzing the development trend of the convention and exhibition industry,international advanced experience and successful practices.This thesis states in three aspects of green operation in Canton Fair: the design and organization of operation and management system,operation and control as well as maintenance and optimization.With the improvement of venues’ functions;the management of the entire process of setting up,displaying,and dismantling;the full service chain of the exhibition industry;and the smart Canton Fair which help with green operations for planning and design,a new operation system can be created.Nevertheless,the operation system can be complimented by increased publicity which enhance the environmental consciousness,strict management,impeccable operation standards,contingency plan and green atmosphere building.Through the establishment and improvement of relevant systems for green exhibitions;making full use of information technology that enhances the intelligence level of exhibitions;implementing ecological management models;increasing the training of talents and other measures to ensure the implementation and solidification of the Canton Fair green operation management system.Comprehensively,systematically and orderly promote the green development of the Canton Fair,and improve the comprehensive competitiveness and international reputation of the Canton Fair.
