In recent years,China's Internet industry has developed rapidly,and the mobile Internet has gradually become the main way to spread information in modern society,it has played an important role in promoting China's economic development,which is helpful to alleviate the imbalance between urban and rural development.However,there are differences in the development of mobile Internet between urban and rural areas,and the distribution of resources between rural and urban areas is un reasonable.Therefore,to a certain extent,it has also increased the imbalance in regional development and expanded the dual contradiction between urban and rural areas.The urban-rural income gap has always been a major problem in China's economic and social development.Therefore,the analysis of the urban-rural gap from the perspective of mobile Internet has certain theoretical and practical significance.This paper studies the influencing factors of the urban-rural income gap from two aspects: theoretical analysis and empirical test.On the theoretical level,this paper analyzes the impact of the development of mobile Internet on the income gap between urban and rural residents is analyzed from the Kuznets inverted U-curve,the new economic growth theory,and the information asymmetry theory.On the empirical level,this paper selects panel data from 31 Chinese provinces(municipalities,autonomous regions)in China from2013 to 2018,using the urban-rural income gap ratio as the explanatory variable,and the development level of mobile Internet development as the explanatory varriable,selecting seven control variables economic:growth,opening to the world,urbanization rate,fiscal expenditure,industrial structure,basic infrastucture and financial development,and the static panel estimation method were used to examine the impact of mobile Internet on China's urban-rural income gap.The results show that: from the perspective of the whole country,the development of mobile Internet can significantly improve the dual structure of urban and rural areas;from the perspective of the three major regions,the development of mobile Internet in the eastern and central regions can also significantly reduce the income gap between urban and rural areas.The development level of the mobile Internet also has a narrowing effect on the urban-rural income gap,but this effect is not obvious;in addition to the mobile Internet,financial development,economic growth,and industrial structure also have significant effects on the urban-rural income gap.Finally,this paper puts forward some relevant policy suggestions on how to use mob-ile Internet to reduce the income gap between urban and rural areas.First,we should increase the investment in rural areas and economically underdeveloped areas and formulate targeted fiscal policies,reducing regional development imbalances;second,develop mobile internet finance and improve the inclusive financial system vigorously;third,improve the mobile internet infrastructure and accelerate the process of urbanization fourth,the government should formulate the correct development strategy and industrial structure policy to integrate and upgrade the mobile internet and industry,promote the development of rural e-commerce,combine the development of online and offline,and broaden farmers' income channels;fifth,improve education levels,provide Internet training for laid-off workers in rural areas,guide talents to return home,and nurture new industries and hightech technical talents.
