With the rapid development of the global economy and the continuous progress of science and technology,competition between international and domestic manufacturing enterprises is becoming increasingly fierce.In order to ensure product quality and improve production efficiency,manufacturing companies generally use streamlined production lines to manufacture products.Although a streamlined production line can make the work content of each station continuous and easy to operate,it also will also cause the unhealthy phenomena such as unbalanced work load,unnecessary loss of working hours and production line blockage because the work time of each station cannot be exactly the same.In severe cases,the entire production line may even be shut down.Therefore,research on production line balance is imminent.The thesis takes Company A's fire alarm detector production line as the research object,and combines industrial engineering improvement methods and computer simulation technology to carry out research on production line balance optimization.First of all,the thesis introduces the research status of production line balance at home and abroad,and explains the related concepts of production line balance.Secondly,the thesis introduces the production status of the detector production line of Company A,and analyzes the problem of the detector production line based on the problems and data collected during the survey.The thesis analyzes the problems existing in the current production line from the aspects of personnel,materials,methods and environment;uses the process program analysis to find hidden waste in the production process;uses Flex Sim to build a simulation model of the detector production line,and finds the Bottleneck workstation through the simulation results.Thirdly,the thesis applies industrial engineering improvement methods to optimize the existing problems in the detector production line.The thesis uses layout optimization,appliance improvement,and 5S management to improve personnel,materials,methods,and environmental issues in the production site;uses process program analysis to optimize hidden waste in the production process;uses operation analysis and The MOD method to optimizes the bottleneck workstation and determines the standard operating time of it.By optimizing the balance of the fire alarm detector production line of Company A,the production efficiency and balance rate of the production line were improved,and the work load of each station was relatively balanced.After the improvement,the balance rate of the detector production line increased by 8.25%,the balance index decreased by 4.76,the production cycle time decreased by 5.94 s,and the daily output increased by 1,224 pieces.
