Multimodal transport promotes the joint and connectivity by implementing regional railways,highways,waterways,aviation and other transportation,which can promote transport capacity,integrate transportation resources,reduce logistics costs,decrease logistical process,achieve freight seamlessly,and form the modern logistics integration of comprehensive transportation system gradually.Research Contents are as follows:(a)Analyze the present situation of multimodal transport network in China’s western region.Understand the western composition of multimodal transport network,the present situation and existing problems in hub city classification and path optimization.(b)Multimodal transport network hub classification research in western city.Analyzing the influence of multimodal transport hub in the western region and applying the fuzzy c-means clustering(FCM)algorithm to classify 34 cities in the western region.(c)The research of transportation mode and transportation route of the western multimodal transportation.The hub and spoke multimodal transport network model will be tested by living example and provides the basis for the western region multimodal transport policy makers.(d)The empirical research.By empirical data analysis of the western multimodal transport network and hub and spoke multimodal transport network model to determine the optimal transportation mode and the optimal route combined with the selected hubs by CPLEX.In this paper,the fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm is used to classify 34 major cities in the west and decides further investment in infrastructure construction scale according to the classification of the city;determining the alternative routes by the classification of the hub in western cities,and establishing the hub and spoke multimodal transport network model combined with the feasible paths,using the CPLEX to the model can find out the key route in the network.Results and conclusion:(a)Western multimodal transport network hub cities need to design the construction and orientate the western urban transportation function scientifically according to the results of classification.(b)The optimal path is mainly through national multimodal network hub and regional multimodal transport hub which is calculated by the multimodal transport route model and CPLEX,and we need to strengthen the investment in national hubs and regional hubs.
