Research On The International Trade Of Beninese Cashew Based On The Sustainable Development

In Benin,cashew nuts are the second largest agricultural export products and one of the main sources of rural income and employment(ISSAKA,2007;MAEP,2008).According to the 2012 African Cashew Initiative(ACI)study,Benin is also Africa's third largest cashew producer,producing about 120,000 tons and growing more than 200,000 hectares.Benin's cashew sector therefore has a great potential to make a significant contribution to the achievement of the country's economic,environmental and social objectives.So far,few studies have been conducted on the topic of Benin's cashew international trade.The author,as an overseas student from Benin,has a deep understanding of Benin.Therefore he hopes to use the existing data to make an in-depth research and offer suggestions for Benin's cashew international trade.In this thesis,the situation and influence of cashew nuts international trade in Benin in recent years was studied and analyzed.This thesis can not only effectively solve the import and export problems of Benin's cashew industry,but also improve Benin's international competitiveness.In order to solve the problems existing in the international trade of Benin cashew nuts,this thesis analyzes the cultivation,processing,storage and transportation of Benin's cashew industry,and puts forward corresponding improvement suggestions.To sum up,the significance of this study is to study the present situation of the cashew industry in Benin,and to propose suggestions to the government to overcome the negative factors of the industry.Therefore,Benin's export competitiveness of cashew industry can be enhanced by this thesis's proposals.This thesis adopts normative research method to carry out research.The thesis is divided into five chapters:chapter 1 discusses the research background,purpose and significance,methods,history and present situation,innovation and deficiencies;The second chapter introduces the theoretical foundation of the full analysis and sorts out the classical international trade theory and the modern international trade theory;The third chapter,from the macro to micro perspective,firstly analyzes the general situation of Benin's international trade.Secondly focuses on the analysis of the history and current situation of the country's cashew international trade,and compares with other main competitors.This chapter fully recognizes the contribution of Benin's cashew international trade to economic growth and summarizes its impact on the economy.Finally,taking China as an example,the situation of international trade relations between Benin and its important trade partners is analyzed;The fourth chapter,through the above analysis,summarizes the problems to be solved and analyzes the causes;According to the present situation,problems and causes of Benin cashew international trade,the fifth chapter puts forward policy suggestions.The innovation of this thesis is as follows:since the 21st century,researchers began to study the export of agricultural products from Africa to China.On the one hand,in terms of the selection of study objects,compared with existing research results,most of them analyze the export trade and bilateral trade of agricultural products between Sub-Saharan Africa and China.In this thesis,the international trade of cashew from Benin to China is selected as the study object.On the other hand,this study collected data on the import and export volume of Benin cashew nuts from 2002 to 2018,and targeted the cashew industry.There are very few studies on the international trade of cashew existing,so this thesis has a certain pioneering effect.
