Business Performance Of The Asset-Light Operation Model In The Internet Industry

In recent years,under the circumstance of the Internet industry with a rapid increase of development,its asset-light operation mode is favored by other enterprises for its characteristics of "small" asset scale,"light" asset form,"heavy" knowledge application,and "high" investment efficiency.Therefore,it is worth paying more attention to whether the mode is conducive to promoting the improvement of enterprise operating performance and how to promote its financial performance.Initially,relevant literatures including asset-light,asset-light degree and asset-light operation mode were sorted out and the key concepts of asset-light degree,asset-light operation mode and operating performance are defined.Then,based on the theory of value chain,capital value and division of labor,this paper proposed the analysis of the asset-light model influential ways,which is the asset-light operation mode mainly promotes the improvement of enterprise operating performance from the R&D and marketing links.What's more,this paper adopts the method of combining empirical research and case analysis to discuss the impact of asset-light operation mode on business performance.In terms of empirical analysis,relevant data of Internet industry from 2009 to 2018 in CSMAR database are selected to verify whether asset-light operation mode is conducive to the improvement of business performance through regression analysis.Meanwhile,taking Tencent as an example and based on the financial data of the enterprise from 2009 to 2018,this paper analyzes the characteristics of its asset-light operation mode,discusses whether the mode can cause positive impact on financial performance from the perspective of vertical comparison and horizontal comparison,and discusses how this mode affects the business performance of Tencent from the perspective of the impact path of asset-light operation mode.Moreover,the empirical study found that the asset-light operation model in the Internet industry can effectively promote the improvement of business performance to a certain extent.The case study found that the asset-light operation mode enables Tencent to make effective use of its resources,and the marketing and R&D links with high value can be effectively carried out,so that Tencent's value creation ability can be improved.Finally,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions for the defects of asset-light operation mode,such as enterprises should take the developmental perspective to look at the problem of large investment in early r&d and marketing.In addition,a great product quality inspection system should be established to improve the quality of outsourced products.The company should enhance its R&D awareness,strengthen independent innovation,optimize product quality and improve product update speed to avoid impairment of core assets.Different financing methods are adopted in different life cycles of enterprises to guarantee the circulation of capital chain and so on.
