Research On The Relationship Between Provincial Economic Gap And Manufacturing Upgrading

Regional economic disparity comes from the difference of regional economic growth.Although affected by natural endowments,the difference in economic growth mainly comes from the industrial structure changes.After the outbreak of the international financial crisis,the major economies have put forward the national strategy of manufacturing.As the driving force behind China's economic growth,manufacturing industry is re-become the strategic high ground of national competitiveness.China economy has entered a period of new normal.The level of development and quality of the manufacturing industry is the key to achieving the domestic economic development shift.Regional imbalances are ubiquitous due to differences in resource endowments,initial strengths or accidental factors.A certain degree of regional differences can contribute to the overall development of the region,but the imbalanced regional differences will become an obstacle to regional development.Therefore,under the new normal economic background,studying the relationship between provincial economic gaps and manufacturing upgrades not only enriches the research content of regional economic theory and industrial economics,but also has important significance for the balanced development of the regional economy and the realization of the goal of manufacturing upgrade.In this paper,GDP per capita is taken as the basic index,Gini coefficient industrial disaggregation method is used to calculate the economic gap within the province,and the improved Moore value and the abrupt change series method are used to calculate the upgrade of manufacturing industry.Based on Chapter 2 theoretical analysis,in Chapter 3,we conjecture the relationship between regional economic disparities and manufacturing upgrades,and put forward the hypothesis 1: There is a relationship of regional economic disparity and manufacturing upgrades and the hypothesis 2: In different economic development stages,Economic disparities within the province and manufacturing Changes in industry upgrades have different effects.Through the panel Granger causality test,correlation analysis and other methods in fifth chapter,it proves that there is a relationship between regional economic gap and manufacturing upgrading.According to the inspection results,the revised hypothesis 2 is: Different economic development stages,the provincial economic gap has different effects on the upgrade of manufacturing.And extended hypothesis of hypothesis 2: Under the condition of economic disparity in different regions,the relationship between regional economic disparity and manufacturing upgrading changes is different,and hypothesis 3: Under different regional economic disparities,the impact of manufacturing upgrade changes on economic development is different,are proposed.Finally,a series of panel threshold models with the economic development level and regional economic gap as thresholds are built for empirical analysis.The conclusions of the study indicate that:(1)There is a clear correlation between economic gaps within the province and manufacturing upgrades,and provincial economic gaps affect manufacturing unidirectionally.(2)With the improvement of economic development level,the impact of the economic gap within the province on the upgrade of manufacturing has inverted N-type distribution.(3)The economic gap within the province is a negative externality product,and has a significant inhibitory effect on the manufacturing upgrade.(4)There are also differences in the economic growth effect of manufacturing upgrading in different provincial economic regions.According to the results of the threshold test,the economic gap within provinces can be divided into three regions: provincial economic low gap [0,0.396],provincial economic gap(0.396,0.566),and provincial economic high gap(0.566,1].In the area of low economic gap,the economic growth effect of the manufacturing upgrades is inhibited;the influence on them cannot be determined in the region of medium gap;because of the limited number of samples,the impact between the two is to promote which is contrary to reality.Finally,according to the empirical results,26 provinces(municipalities)were classified and analyzed according to the threshold of economic development threshold and the regional economic gap threshold.In view of the results of 26 provinces(municipalities),this paper provides suggestions for provincial(city)governments to formulate regional coordination and manufacturing upgrade policies.
