The energy conservation service industry has been developed in China for more than 20 years.During this period,the industry has gone through four stages,from the initial stage of introduction,stage of promotion,stage of stable development to nowadays the new stage of transformation and upgrading.For the current stage,the pressure of the external environment and the limitations of the company’s own capabilities hinder the development of the industry.And promoting technology diffusion is an important solution to this problem.Technology diffusion can solve the technical dilemma of ESCOs(energy service companies)and effectively promote the development of emerging industries.Through the research on the technology diffusion of energy conservation service industry,it provides a basis for decision-making of ESCOs and provides reference for industrial policy making,which has a high practical significance.Based on literature review,this study clarifies the concept of technology diffusion in energy conservation service industry,summarizes the topology and statistical characteristics of complex networks,and expounds the characteristics of ABM(multi-agent modeling)method.The boundary of the technology diffusion system of the energy conservation service industry is defined,through the analysis of the subjects and the influencing factors of internal and external environmentIn this study the process of technology diffusion is divided into primary and secondary stages.When considering the technology diffusion of energy-saving service industry incorporated into the complexity theory,the secondary stage is studied.Thus,based on the characteristics of technology diffusion,energy conservation service industry’s technology diffusion complex network is developed.In this network,the structure of the network is small world network,the nodes are ESCOs and the links are the social relationships between ESCOs.This complex network is the key research point and the basis of simulation in the study.Then taking the threshold theory as core,ESCOs’ decision-making mechanism and its model function are explained.Specifically,the study briefly describes the main influencing factors of the technology diffusion when the ESCOs are making decisions.And the simulation analysis frameworks of the impact of technical quality and policy support on technology diffusion are proposed separately.Finally,using ABM,the simulation of above simulation problems is performed on Netlogo,the results of the two variables on technology diffusion speed and depth are also obtained.Based on the results,the measures to promote the technology diffusion of are proposed.The study explores the diffusion of technology in the energy conservation service industry from a complex network perspective,which enriches the research in related fields.The suggestions from the view of technical quality and policy support have guiding significance for improving the level of industrial technology innovation and reducing the technical capability gap between ESCOs.And the study will contribute to the healthy development of China’s energy conservation service industry.
