Study On Quality Improvement Of Ball Stud In Mass Production

Company A provides heat treatment for the customers from automotive parts industry.In recent years,as the market changes,company A has faced some strong competitions.At the same time,internal quality control has not been effectively improved,which causes high quality cost.Under the new situation,Company A management team has proposed a new strategic goal: by 2020,Company A is expected to obtain no less than 90% market share of ball pins.Followed by quality goal,company A has to reduce the scrap rate apparently.The success of quality goal can help achieve the strategical goal.The purpose of this thesis is to run a typical six sigma project and get beneficial,in order to achieve company strategy goal.This thesis can be divided into 5 segments:(1)The author had consulted a lot of articles,expounding the importance of quality improvement in auto industry.Next,the author made connections of Six Sigma management and quality improvement.Afterwards,the author illustrated the background of Six Sigma management domestic and abroad as well as the main content of this thesis.(2)The author introduced the background of achieving company strategy goal,expounding the importance of execution of strategy goal and decomposing company goal to business unit goal.The author also gave a description of achieving company strategy goal by means of application of Six Sigma management.At last,the author introduced the method of Six Sigma project assessment and the tools used for Six Sigma project.This chapter made a good preparation of following Six Sigma project.(3)As well,the author gave a description of the preparation of Six Sigma management process,including project resource,project selection and the plan of earlier stage.According to the analysis of voice of customer(VOC)of Company A from automotive industry,the scope of Six Sigma project had been defined.(4)This thesis also described the major content.After the Six Sigma project scope defined,the author had executed the Six Sigma process in accordance with DMAIC theory.At end,the author had summarized this Six Sigma project with the benefits and some expanded aspects of Company A.(5)In the end,the author made a summary by this project and gave the expectation to Company A.
