Recent years,with the rapid development of agricultural machinery industry of our country,the market competition is getting fiercer and fiercer.With the hope of raising the enterprises' competition,most of the agricultural machinery manufactures choose to improve their current products or promote new items in order to quickly respond to and satisfy with the needs of their customers.It plays a vital role in successful operation and sustainable development of the enterprises,when the new products come into the market successfully and well adopted.To ensure the success of the new product,more and more enterprises introduce the project management of new product development.However,owing to the immature industry development in our nation and lack of experience in the project management,different enterprises face different difficulties and problems.They fail to establish comprehensive risk management system during the period of new product development,process planning and mass production.Thus the decisions are always based on subjective judgment,so in the process of new product development,it is hard to effectively identify kinds of potential risks and adopt related measures to prevent and respond.The failure of risk management in new projects has unsatisfying impact on new products development,and the worst,it may ruin the whole project.And for exactly that reason,the research on project risk management of new product development is essential to the reality.Based on the example of new tractor product development in S company,the paper summarizes the current situation and problems in new project's risk management of S company and proposes the usage of AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method in risk assessment.By building multi-level risk index system in new product development,introducing the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)to quantize the rank the risk elements,and establishing evaluation standards,experts are capable of rating the risks and calculating the risk numerical value with the help of AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.After research in this paper,when AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method applied to the new product development in S company's new tractors project,it is proved that AHP is a good tool to evaluate the potential risks and it helps to guide the project in a well-developed direction..
