Abstract/Summary:
This paper takes Erli village in Pingwu as an example to analyze the practice of the autonomous ethnic tourism development by the local residents. In the research method, this paper dose not construct, change and regenerate concept to describe the social culture status in the context of tourism economy. That is to say,not to regard Baima culture at a certain moment as an external existing standard model, and later the cultural changes are compared to discover and summarize the characteristics of reconstruction and variation of their culture, but to observe and explain how the local residents develop national tourism, carry out cultural exhibitions, etc.from the perspective of the local residents themselves.Firstly, this paper summarizes the tourism development characteristics of Erli village by reviewing its development process of the past. And then it analyzes the formation process of Erli’s village landscape and reception model.Through the study of tourism practice in Erli village,we found that local residents are not passive and blind when involved in the ethnic tourism. On the contrary, they can actively use various resources and take the initiative to promote the development of local tourism. Moreover, the use and presentation of cultural elements by local residents cannot be simply construed as catering to tourists. This includes both the traces of life culture of the residents, the understanding of tourism, and the consideration of cost and competition factors.Although this kind of independent tourism development model has brought great benefits to the residents, shown the vitality of the residents for tourism development, but it is also restricted by the residents’ own development ability, which makes the local tourism homogenize and the distortion of traditional culture. At the same time, the study found that due to residents’ concern about their own interests and development opportunities in tourism development, the community lacks the strength to emphasize and maintain local cultural traditions. The external economic stimulation and guidance alone cannot effectively promote the inheritance of cultural and spiritual values of the community.
