Agriculture, rural areas and farmers have always played an important role in the national economic development strategy. In order to realize the rapid development of rural areas and raise farmers' income to a higher level, the government has issued many policies and documents for rich and strong farmers.Whether it is to eliminate farmers' food taxes, grant land subsidies or rural revitalization strategies, these policies have enabled the rural economy to continue to grow, and the urban-rural gap has gradually narrowed.China's rural population has a large base.It is a prerequisite and key to achieving common prosperity for all and ensuring steady growth of farmers' income. In order to fundamentally solve the problem of slow growth of farmers' income,we should rely on national policies and at the same time pay attention to improving farmers' own capital and ability. In China,a society where people are bound by blood ties, social capital undoubtedly plays an important role in many factors affecting farmers' income. The promotion of social capital can not only directly increase the income of farmers, but also mediate income through mediators such as information capabilities. In the information age, only by learning to obtain and use information can we seize more opportunities and broaden sources of income. The improvement of farmers' information ability is the only way for the transformation from traditional farmers to new farmers. Therefore, from the perspective of social capital, the introduction of information capacity and the demonstration of the direct and indirect effects of social capital on income broaden the micro research perspective between social capital and income, which has a strong theoretical and practical significance for improving farmers' income and promoting rural revitalization. This paper takes social capital as the research object, defines the concept of social capital and information ability on the basis of summarizing relevant domestic and foreign literatures, and theoretically analyzes the influence of social capital on income and its mechanism of action. Then use the micro-survey data of farmers in Fan County,Henan Province to analyze the four dimensions of social capital, the status of farmers' income and the status of information capabilities, and use the factor analysis model to measure each dimension of social capital and construct a social capital indicator system. The multivariate linear regression model is used to analyze the impact of different dimensions of social capital on farmers' income. On this basis,a simultaneous equation model is established to empirically test the direct and indirect effects of social capital on farmers' income and the mediating role of information capacity. Finally,by studying the impact of social capital on income and its mechanism of action,it provides specific recommendations for the government to formulate farmers' incomeincreasing policies, thus providing an operable method for farmers to increase their income. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)In the research area, most farmers have less income channels and lower income level, higher information acquisition ability but lower information utilization ability, higher social trust and social participation, but lower social network and social expectation.(2)The three dimensions of social capital and the social capital index have a significant positive impact on farmers' income.Compared with the other three dimensions, the social network has the largest impact coefficient, followed by social participation and social trust. The influence of social prestige on income has not been tested, and the relationship between social prestige and income is not obvious.(3)Information capacity plays a mediating role in the impact of social capital on farmers' income. Therefore, social capital has both direct effects on income and indirect effects through information capabilities, and the effects of indirect and direct effects are almost equal.
