A Study On The Relationship Between Place Attachment,Tourism Empowerment And Support For Tourism Development

With the implementation of the tourism poverty alleviation policy and the diverse tourism consumption demand.Heritage sites have attracted much attention because of their unique resource value and huge potential for regional economic development.Heritage tourism has developed vigorously.However,behind the prosperity,there are also a series of negative impacts,such as forced relocation of residents,environmental damage,foreign cultural invasion and so on.Conflict incidents continue to occur,which is rooted in the ignorance of residents’ interests by tourism managers.Residents,as the core stakeholders of heritage sites,are an important part of tourism resources,which is crucial for the sustainable and healthy development of heritage sites.In 2008,the introduction of foreign empowerment theory provided a new way to solve the power dilemma.but the current situation in China of "theory first,practice lagging behind",Most of the residents have been marginalized because of their uneven educational level,weak awareness of tourism participation and inadequate ability to participate.Even some residents have not benefited from tourism development participation,but also suffered from the negative impact of rising prices,environmental damage,etc.In this case,residents will lose their enthusiasm for resource protection,which is not only a loss,but also a direct threat to the sustainable development of tourism.Therefore,it is of guiding significance for the whole stable development of heritage sites to study the residents’ place emotions,improve residents’ place identity and enhance residents’ perception of tourism empowerment,so as to promote residents’ active participation and support for tourism development.Based on the study of place attachment and tourism empowerment at home and abroad,and combined with the actualsituation of Wulingyuan,a relationship model between place attachment,tourism empowerment and support for tourism development was established.The survey data were collected with the four dimensions of tourism empowerment as intermediary variables.This paper objectively evaluates the status of residents’ tourism empowerment in heritage sites by using the method of entropy weight,and tests the relationship model and intermediary effect by SPSS and AMOS software.The following conclusions are drawn:Firstly,the two dimensions of place attachment(place dependence and place identity)have different degrees of positive impact on the four dimensions of tourism empowerment,among which functional place dependence has a more significant impact on economic empowerment,social empowerment and political empowerment,while emotional place identity has a stronger impact on psychological empowerment;secondly,the two dimensions of place attachment have a stronger impact on tourism development support.Thirdly,the four dimensions of tourism empowerment have different impacts on support for tourism development.Psychological empowerment and social empowerment have weak impacts on support for tourism development,while economic empowerment and political empowerment have more significant impacts.Fourthly,the four dimensions of tourism empowerment play an intermediary role between the two dimensions of place attachment and support for tourism development.Based on the conclusion and the analysis of empowerment perception,this study puts forward four management inspirations for how to give full play to the positive role of residents in tourism development,stimulate the potential of residents’ participation in tourism,and promote the healthy and sustainable development of heritage sites.
