Research On Influencing Factors Of Trade Cooperation Between Russia And Korea

Russia and South Korea are important countries in Northeast Asia with complex interests.During the Cold War,the Soviet Union and South Korea were in a hostile camp,but there were no direct military conflicts and confrontations between the two countries,nor major historical grievances and territorial disputes,which laid the foundation for the normalization of bilateral relations after that.On September 30,1990,the Soviet Union formally established diplomatic relations with South Korea.After the disintegration of the Soviet Union,Russia paid more attention to the development of bilateral relations with South Korea,which has a history of more than 20 years.Bilateral cooperation areas have been expanding continuously.It has developed from economic and trade cooperation to energy resources,security and defense,transportation,culture,science and technology,fisheries and other aspects.The rise of bilateral relations between Russia and South Korea to a "strategic" level reflects the strategic intentions of the two countries in Northeast Asia,and also has an important impact on the surrounding countries and the whole Northeast Asia region,which should be highly valued by both sides.As a result of the Russian financial crisis,the CIS countries closely related to Russia are also affected,which not only shrinks the economic cooperation between Korea and CIS countries,but also shrinks the export of products to Russia by Korean enterprises invested in CIS countries.Therefore,the economic cooperation between South Korea and Russia will be greatly affected in the short term.Even so,the two countries still enhance mutual trust and understanding through exchanges of visits between the Common Committee on Economic and Technological Affairs of Korea and Russia and senior officials of the two countries.Neither country has abandoned cooperation with the other side,the two countries signed agreements on strengthening cooperation in trade,investment,energy and natural resources,manufacturing and industry,small and medium-sized enterprises,science and technology,electrical communications,fisheries,maritime transport,environmental protection and regional cooperation.This will undoubtedly play a positive role in promoting the development of economic relations between the two countries.Therefore,the research on trade cooperation between Russia and Korea is the topic of the graduation thesis.
