At present,China's agricultural production is increasingly constrained by the constraints of resources and environment, and the potential to increase the supply of agricultural products through domestic production has been limited. At the same time, the rapid increase of population in our country, the implementation of urbanization and upgrading of residents' consumption structure, consumer demand of agricultural products will continues to grow.In the future, gaps between supply and demand of agricultural products will increase.Considering domestic reality,China needs to improve its own production capacity,it also needs to make appropriate use of international markets and foreign resources, strengthening agricultural cross-border cooperation.Regardless of geopolitical location or economic cooperation,Eurasia Economic Union countries are important partners of China. From the geopolitical perspective, the Union countries are located in the hinterland of Eurasia, and they are all important countries along the“Belt and Road”.In addition,Kazakhstan,Russia and Kyrgyzstan have long borders with China. At the same time, agricultural resources of the Union countries are rich, conditions of agricultural production are good, and the development of the agricultural sector has always been the common aspiration of the Union countries. But they all face problems, such as insufficient investment in agricultural field, production technology backward and so on.Therefore,we can take advantage of China's agricultural production technology, capital and labor, and carry out agricultural cooperation with the Union countries. The deepening of agricultural cooperation between the two sides will be helpful to solve the difficulties in agricultural sector faced by our country, and will promote the transfer of agricultural technology and capital in china, and improve the level of agricultural modernization of Union countries.Studying on the potential of agricultural cooperation between China and the Union countries can provide certain data support and policy reference for strengthening agricultural cooperation in the future. This paper firstly analyzes the agricultural development situation and the status of agricultural cooperation in detail, and then constructs the agricultural cooperation potential measurement index system based on spatial interaction theory for quantitative analysis. This study found that China and the Union countries have obvious differences in agricultural resource endowment, production input, agricultural production, and have the basic conditions for agricultural cooperation. At present, there are still many shortcomings in agricultural cooperation, and the potential for deepening cooperation is relatively large.Through measurement,It is found that Russia and Kazakhstan have great potential of agricultural cooperation with China;the agricultural cooperation potential with Kyrgyzstan,Belarus and Armenia is relatively small.Based on the conclusions of study, proposing the following suggestions:Deepen complementary cooperation with Union countries, realize the comparative advantages of both sides;Optimize the agricultural trade structure, improve the competitiveness of agricultural products in china;Key breakthroughs in agricultural cooperation to enhance the radiation effects of agricultural cooperation;Strengthen interconnected infrastructure construction under the “Belt and Road” initiative;Optimize the construction of the institutional environment and promote the construction of the China-Eurasia Economic Union free trade zone.
